Congratulations Kathy and Blake on earning 1500 Lifetime OTCH points!

Newsflash July 2011:  Kathy and Secret High in Trial/High Combined at 1st Dog Training Club of Northern NJ trial.

Kathy Walker started obedience training and showing in 1980 with a rescue Siberian Husky and then a rescue Doberman Pinscher, both of whom earned Companion Dog Titles.  In 1983 she bought her 1st puppy: a Border Collie.  She immediately fell in love with the breed and has trained and shown several since that time.  She has also loved and shown a very special Saffordshire Bull Terrier and a comical little French Bulldog. 

Over the years, she has studied under numerous world renowned trainers, such as Janice Demello, Patty Ruzzo, Judy Howard, Janet Lewis, Sheila Booth, and Sylvia Bishop.  Kathy attends Terri Arnold’s OTCh camp yearly. In 1998, Kathy began training with Terri Arnold and has been a student ever since. 

Kathy began as a member of the Somerset County 4-H Dog Project in the early 80’s. She then went on to teach for the Dog Project from 1984-1999.  She has also taught for Town & Country DTC (1987-1992), Staten Island CDC (1992-2007), and Princeton DTC (1992-2008). Kathy is also an approved AKC obedience judge and regularly attends judges seminars.

Kathy currently shares her life with: two Border Collies, Blake (Ch/OTCh Wyndspell Back in Black UDX 10, RE, OA, NAJ - a 2007 world team alternate!) and Secret (Redbridge Keepin a Dark Secret UD), a rescue French Bulldog, Leo (FBRN My Little Alien CD RE), a rescued AmStaff, Faith, and her newest little border collie puppy Drake as well as her cats (Skye & Liberty) and a pair of rescued goats (Jay and Street).
